Harmonic Reflection Amplifier for Widespread Backscatter Internet-of-Things

چکیده

The highly power-efficient backscattering communication scheme holds solid potentials to lead the Internet of Things technologies. However, asymmetric radio frontend architectures that ensure cheap and pervasive communicating things tags at one end link, overburden other link (“reader”) with complicated expensive hardware. This turns out prevent integration technology in wide spectrum consumer electronic devices (e.g. RF smartphone platforms). By separating TX RX frequency bands, harmonic drastically loosens technological constraints toward integration. We propose here use a single tunnel diode build reflection amplifier (HRA), using nonlinear behavior negative differential resistance region both generate harmonics amplify signals. circuit also behaves like common backscatter, same-frequency modulation for operation legacy readers. Operating below 150 mV, HRA drains 144-μW dc power measured positive conversion gain 18 dB.

Cooperative Ambient Backscatter Communications for Green Internet-of-Things

Ambient backscatter communication (AmBC) enables a passive backscatter device to transmit information to a reader using ambient RF signals, and has emerged as a promising solution to green Internet-of-Things (IoT). Conventional AmBC receivers are interested in recovering the information from the ambient backscatter device (ABD) only. In this paper, we propose a cooperative AmBC (CABC) system in...

A Mutual Authentication Method for Internet of Things

Today, we are witnessing the expansion of various Internet of Things (IoT) applications and services such as surveillance and health. These services are delivered to users via smart devices anywhere and anytime. Forecasts show that the IoT, which is controlled online in the user environment, will reach 25 billion devices worldwide by 2020. Data security is one of the main concerns in the IoT. ...

Backscatter Communications for the Internet of Things: A Stochastic Geometry Approach

Powering the massive number of small computing devices in the Internet of Things (IoT) is a major challenge because replacing their batteries or powering them with wires is very expensive and impractical. A viable option to enable a perpetual network operation is through the use of far-field Wireless Power Transfer (WPT). We study a large network architecture that uses a combination of WPT and ...

Dominant Channel Occupancy for Wi-Fi Backscatter Uplink in Industrial Internet of Things

This paper presents a dominant channel occupancy (DCO) mechanism for the Wi-Fi backscatter uplink in the industrial Internet of things (IIoT). The DCO provides high-priority channel access and reliable burst transmission to the Wi-Fi backscatter devices, thereby enabling the Wi-Fi backscatter tag to deliver its tag information to the Wi-Fi reader without interference from neighboring legacy Wi-...

A Survey of Anomaly Detection Approaches in Internet of Things

Internet of Things is an ever-growing network of heterogeneous and constraint nodes which are connected to each other and the Internet. Security plays an important role in such networks. Experience has proved that encryption and authentication are not enough for the security of networks and an Intrusion Detection System is required to detect and to prevent attacks from malicious nodes. In this ...
